Is the brush 100% biodegradable?
Yes, it is , toothbrushes with bamboo handle is made from 100% sustainable bamboo and can be put in your home compost or in a commercial composting bin. The bristles are made from Nylon and charcoal. both of them are not biodegradable.
Which kind of bamboo it is?
The handle is made of 100% biodegradable Moso bamboo, an environmentally sustainable timber. It is heat treated to carbonize the surface of the bamboo, giving it a quality finish and good service life.The carbonization finishing process provides water resistance and prevents the growth of microbes (bacteria and moulds) during normal use. why bamboo?
What is the material of bristles?
It is made of castor oil fiber and nylon and they are free of BPA and petroleum. The oil extracted from the plant is mixed with nylon. The bristles are therefore not 100% biodegradable, due to the fact there is nylon inside, but they are currently the best option available on the market. Longer lifetime, better anti-deformation, enhancing whitening. And the color of the bristles depends on your requirement.
Unfortunately, regardless of what other companies say, nylon is not biodegradable. The current fully biodegradable options are ineffective and not suitable for cleaning your teeth. Furthermore, as well as being ineffective, the current biodegradable bristles are made from animal hairs, meaning animals may have been harmed in the making of those products. This is definitely not an option for us.

How do I care for my toothbrush with bamboo?
Since bamboo is a natural material, it is best to keep your brush in an open, dry area. Our advice is to store your brush upright and in an open-air toothbrush holder! Dentists recommend replacing your toothbrush every 3 months. Check out our subscription service, and get fresh brushes delivered right to your door!
How do I dispose of the toothbrushes with bamboo properly?
The Bamboo handle is 100% biodegradable & may be composted after use.
The bristles however are not biodegradable & must be removed before disposal with pliers.
The bristles have to be separated from the handle. With any basic pair of pliers this is quite easy and it gives micro muscles in your hand, arm, and shoulder a little workout. You’re welcome! Also remove the small metal plate that keeps the bristles together. then send it to “Colgate Oral Care Recycling Program”
